Microsoft is undergoing a major transition to 3D illustrations across its entire product line. As part of this initiative, the Microsoft Security team engaged me to help create a dedicated illustration library tailored to their needs. These illustrations are used throughout Microsoft Security products and are optimized to significantly reduce file sizes, ensuring faster performance and improved user experience.
I collaborated with 3D illustrators to develop original artwork, then worked to vectorize these designs for seamless integration into Security products. Additionally, I created exclusive, Security-specific illustrations that matched the established visual style. What sets this library apart is its use of vector graphics—offering the visual appeal of 3D while dramatically improving load times compared to traditional 3D assets.
I also contributed by developing guidelines for the appropriate use of these illustrations within the UI. Additionally, I created a digital asset management (DAM) system on SharePoint to organize and store all these illustrations in SVG format.
Special thanks to the incredible team who developed the 3D illustration style while I collaborated with them to bring these visuals to vector.
