and the joy of gift giving. The colors are rich and saturated. The photography is sophisticated, but still whimsical. Once we had our concept, Wrap It Up, we created detailed shot lists and sketches to prepare for the four day, internal photo shoot. Dozens of wrapping paper patterns were designed to use in the shoot, and in assets on the website. After the photo shoot wrapped, we began creating the 50 page style guide to distribute to teams across the company. It is a home page that all the designers at Microsoft use to get motivation, share projects, get resources or learn new things to progress their careers. They were looking to motivate people to come back to this page monthly by updating the site monthly with new themes. For this month, they requested a graphic that would represent designers using tools and collaborating with each other. When You Think of Home is a community of artists determined to help. We do this through the sale of art that directly benefits Acres of Love, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing care, a family, and forever homes to orphans in South Africa. ‍ Our ongoing creative project encourages artists around the world to illustrate the idea of “home,” inspired by their village, town, city, or state. From Tokyo to Toronto, treetops to the kitchen table, each poster captures a feeling, memory, or moment meant to bring us all home. For this project, though I am from Seattle I am a bit of an introvert and created a sanctuary of what I think of as home. I collect a ton of pots and plants my house kind of looks like a jungle and my cat is always chilling next to them staring out the window. For me, when I close my eyes this is what I see as home. The graphic is being used as a header on their website. Cat Attack is an app that reminds you when to feed, play or even live stream your cat. You can get notifications on your phone, apple watch or computer letting you know when to check up on your furry creature. I absolutely love cats so this was a dream project for me.
